Born and bred in a cookie-cutter suburb in Los Angeles, Alex grew up questioning the ordinary. As a strategist and tinkerer, he gave up an enviable job managing one-off projects and founded STREETSEED when several clients approached him with prototypical projects in deplorable conditions. Meeting tight budgets and timelines, he instilled a fresh identity into each of these places. Through STREETSEED, he hopes to make well-designed spaces accessible to everyone.
Prior to founding STREETSEED, Alex worked on the design teams for several major New York area projects, including the competition-winning AdaptNYC proposal to develop a new model of housing in light of changing demographics, the Columbia University Manhattanville expansion project, and J2, the tallest residential tower in New Jersey. More recently, he was in charge of large-scale masterplan and commercial projects around the world – many of which are under construction – as Design Associate at CAZA. He enjoys spending weekends taking his bike off the beaten path and getting creative in the kitchen.
Director of Operations
Growing up in fast-paced New York City, Cleo thrives on taking quick steps and adapting to dynamic environments. She believes there’s always a more efficient way of doing things, and doesn’t easily give up trying to find one. Her studies at Dartmouth College focused on Economics. In her younger days, she was awarded finalist for a “Tales of Tomorrow” essay contest, a testament to her curious mind.
Along with STREETSEED, she also works at Goldman Sachs managing the firm’s mobility budget through designing financial tools providing transparency into spending patterns. She consistently executes ideas thoughtfully and flawlessly. Having worked with many large and complex data sets over the years, Cleo takes the lead in STREETSEED’s efforts to optimize real estate analytics for small-scale developers. She is excited to bring her strengths and energy into identifying untapped markets for tomorrow’s projects.
