Growing up in a cookie-cutter suburb in Los Angeles, Alex has always been interested in the ordinary. He strives to do the ordinary better than everyone else. He fittingly founded STREETSEED when several clients approached him with projects in deplorable conditions. Meeting tight budgets and timelines, he made these places habitable and in the process has instilled into them a fresh identity. Prior to founding STREETSEED, Alex worked on the design teams for several major New York area projects, including the competition-winning AdaptNYC proposal to develop a new model of housing in light of changing demographics, the Columbia University Manhattanville expansion project, and J2, the tallest residential tower in New Jersey. More recently, he was in charge of large-scale masterplan and commercial projects around the world – many of which are under construction – as Design Associate at CAZA. He has been known to spend weekends on ordinary activities like biking, grocery shopping, and cooking.
